Angela Madden-Heinzen, DVM

My name is Angela Madden-Heinzen. I graduated from the UW-SVM in 1996. I then came back to work at Port Cities Animal Hospital for 3 years. Port Cities Animal Hospital had been my home all through college and vet school. I spent one year working in the Emergency and Critical Care department of the Fox Valley Animal Referral Center. After that year I realized that Port Cities Animal Hospital was a part of whom I was and was where I was meant to be. I returned to Port Cities Animal Hospital in 2000. I became a partner in the practice in 2003 and in 2008 I purchased the remaining shares of Port Cities Animal Hospital from Dr. Bremer.

I am grateful to be able to do what I love for a living. It is such an honor to be able to be a small part of our patients' and clients' lives. Port Cities Animal Hospital is my life's work and my lives' passion - I am proud of what we have become and excited about where we are going!

Dr. Madden-Heinzen is married and has two children. They have 3 dogs and 3 cats.

Their family enjoys spending time with their pets, vintage cars, and keeping up with their busy children.

Rebecca Hauser, DVM

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. I spent the first 8 years of my career practicing in a Mixed Animal practice in Northern MN. It was mostly dairy and beef, but I did alot of equine and small animal work, as well as the occasional pig, sheep, and goat. Next, I spent a year in an Emergency practice in Illinois, but then moved back to WI where I've been practicing In Small Animal practices ever since. I joined Port Cities Animal Hospital in fall of 2007. I live on a small farm with 2 horses (a Morgan mare and a young Percheron gelding) and am waiting patiently for my gelding's full sibling to be born in spring of 2016. I'm looking forward to having a "big team" of horses again. I also have an elderly Collie, a young goofy Gordon Setter, and an older kitty. In my spare time (ha!) I enjoy driving draft horses, SCUBA diving, stained glass work, cross stitch, and reading.

Debbie Hibbard, Office Manager

I am Debbie Hibbard, Office Manager here at Port Cities Animal Hospital.  My husband Bill and I have three wonderful children, 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and a german shepard named Mishka that lives in Indiana with my youngest daughter.  We enjoy the outdoors, boating, fishing, kayaking, skiing, 4-wheeling, camping, tennis and most importantly spending time with family and friends.

I started at Port Cities Animal Hospital, Inc. in 1999, when our youngest daughter started first grade.  I enjoy the clients, doctors and staff that I work with.  I've truly enjoyed watching this business grow.  The doctors are absolutely phenomenal in the work that they do.  This is the sole reason that I work here.

This new hospital that they designed is state of the art.  It was very well thought out to provide the best possible care to our clients and their pets.  Not only have they made the lobby and exam rooms more comfortable for our clients, they have added a business office, separate cat and dog boarding (all dogs are in a run) and a large procedures area where the hospitalized patients are.  The most important addition is a beautiful quiet room that was designed for our pet owners to spend time with their hospitalized pet or consult when it comes time to make difficult decisions.  This room really shows our clients how much we care about them.

I am very excited about where this business is going.  I look forward to getting to know our new clients and their pets and having a groomer work with us.  I want to thank our staff.  It takes a special person to work here ? every staff member is dedicated, honest, hardworking, and compassionate and is able to multitask throughout every day.  I appreciate the work that they do.  Finally and most importantly, I want to thank our clients and let them know that we truly appreciate their business.  If there is anything that I can do to help you, I surely will.  Just ask.

Chris Couris, Receptionist

I grew up on a farm in Illinois, where we raised chickens, ducks, and geese for show, giving me a love of animals from an early age.  I graduated from UW-Whitewater, after which I worked as a Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant for 8 years at an animal clinic in Illinois that included mobile practice.

I live in Manitowoc with my partner Tony, and enjoy the beauty of the area.  I enjoy the indoors and outdoors equally - I can find happiness exploring nature or visiting a zoo just as easily as I can find happiness relaxing at home with television or video games (a good thing, considering I am not such a fan of snow!).  I am active in my church, am a huge fan of sushi and other interesting foods, and enjoy spending time with the family and friends I have in Manitowoc.

Port Cities Animal Hospital is a great place to work-the facility is amazing, the doctors and staff have made me feel at home, and our clients are the best.  I know that if I go to a store or restaurant after work with my name badge on, I am sure to have somebody tell me how much they love Port Cities Animal Hospital and how important Port Cities Animal Hospital has been in the life of their animal and their family.  I am glad to be part of a team that provides such excellent care.

Andy Plagenz, Receptionist

I was born in Kokomo, Indiana and moved to Wisconsin with my parents and 3 siblings when I was 8 years old.  I have lived in Manitowoc since the summer of 2010 when I got married to my wonderful wife, Danielle. We have one beautiful daughter, Capri, who was born June 2014.  We have 2 dogs at home who keep us company. Payton is a lab mix who has a super mellow personality, and Lincoln is a shepherd mix who is full of energy and keeps  us on our toes.  I enjoy the outdoors. Camping, hunting, biking, and carpentry are a few of my hobbies. I also like all kinds of sports, but basketball is my favorite.  I like animals and have always been interested in the veterinary field and am very excited to be a member of the Port Cities family.

I live in Manitowoc with my fiance Shaun and son Jordan.  We share our home with Emma, our Golden Retreiver, Bennie our Boston Terrier, and JJ our bearded dragon.  We spend a lot of time cheering Jordan on while he's playing baseball and Chiefs football.  My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family, whether it be playing or watching sports, walking our dogs, or having a family game night.

Cameron Wehunt, Receptionist

I've lived in the greater Manitowoc area for most of my life.  I have many animals in my life that I cherish greatly including a Painted turtle named Micro, 2 Weimaraner's Skylarc and Valentine and two Chihuahuas Duddie and Peanut.  Mostly during my free time, you can find me hiking out at Rally Point, or watching Netflix on my couch.  It really does feel phenomenal to be able to take care of your pets in a manner I would want all of my horde treated.

Becky Novitski, Kennel Assistant

I live north of Mishicot with my husband, five dogs and many cats, most of which were adopted.  I also have a grown son living in Two Rivers and a grown daughter in Waupun who is expecting my first grandchild very soon.  I have always had a strong passion for animal welfare, thus I worked at the Humane Society for six years, helping and loving the homeless animals of Manitowoc County.  I then worked at a doggie daycare in Kaukauna, supervising large packs of dogs to ensure safe and appropriate off leash play.  I now care for the boarding animals at Port Cities, striving to make their time away from home and family as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing poetry and spending time with my entire family, both human as well as furry, of course.

Lulu

Hello everyone, I am Lulu.  I am a Ragdoll mix and I joined Port Cities Animal Hospital in June of 2016.  I came from a rescue group and have been co-clinic cat with my sister Charlie ever since.  I am very vocal and like to express my opinion.  I am a bit more outgoing than my sister, but together we like to greet everyone who enters the clinic.  We are often perched on the reception counter and like to make their jobs a bit more difficult by getting in the way and hiding paper clips!  Feel free to give me a scratch and say hello, and I will say "Hi" back.

Charlie

Hello everyone, I am Charlie.  I am a Ragdoll mix and I joined Port Cities Animal Hospital in June of 2016.  I came from a rescue group and have been co-clinic cat with my sister Lulu ever since.  I am a bit shyer than my sister, but give me some time and I will seek out attention, especially if my sister is getting affection.  I do get a bit jealous.  My favorite place to catch a cat nap is behind the receptionist's computers!  People say I am the most beautiful cat that they have seen, shhh don't tell my sister!  If I am out and about give me a scratch, and welcome to Port Cities Animal Hospital.
